Indians Down ‘Canes; Sweep at D’Iberville Classic
The Biloxi Indians defeated the West Harrison Hurricanes 3-1 Wednesday night to sweep their two games in the D’Iberville Classic.
Jordan Skog threw a complete game to pick up the win for the Indians. He struck out eight and scattered five hits while surrendering one run.
The Hurricanes scored that run in the first to take the lead, but the Indians claimed the lead for good in the third inning. A Nick Wheelock triple scored Ben Hurtado, and Cody Brown brought Wheelock across the plate with a two run homer.
The win improved the Indians’ record to 3-1. Skog is now 2-0 on the season. The Hurricanes fell to 1-2.
The Indians return to the diamond Friday in the Mid-Mississippi Classic. They play Huntsville High (AL) on Friday at 7 at Northwest Rankin. On Saturday, they take on McGill-Toolen (Mobile) at 4 Saturday at Madison Central. West Harrison’s next opponent is Harrison Central. They play Friday at 4:30 as the D’Iberville Classic continues.
